Effective Goal Setting Review
It’s important that we effectively set and then accomplish our life goals to achieve our dreams. Let’s review.
Can we talk for just a minute?
We’ve learned about the goal-setting and achievement process, and then we set our financial goals. It’s not been easy, but you now have something tangible in your hand. A plan to reach financial freedom. This is no small feat; few actually do it, and now you have too!
Effectively setting AND accomplishing goals
Because it’s been a long slog, and before we jump into developing our professional goals, I think it’s prudent to take a few minutes to review the process of effectively setting AND accomplishing goals. Why? So we can achieve our dreams and live our best life! That’s why! OK, we went over all of this a long time ago, but let’s talk about some of the more important points of setting AND achieving our goals. Let’s go!
Life goals (that is, the combination of financial, professional, and personal goals) should be clearly defined.
I will do this action by this date and achieve this outcome
I will use SMART goals-Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Relevant, Time-Bound
Write them down, use repetition, be disciplined and consistent
Goals should be challenging AND attainable
Be committed, don’t be just interested
Remember the coffee and avocado toast story
This concept applies to all goals: Financial, Professional, and Personal
That’s a very high-level review of the goal-setting process, just to make sure you have it squared away in your mind before we jump into the next major section, which is developing and achieving professional goals.
